BUT FOR EVERYTHING, THERE IS A SEASON

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiastes 3 vs 1

Today in class, a few of us were picking on a colleague. Seriously! I’m not a bully though but it was just us having fun and trying to ease of the stress from school work. The issue with this classmate was that he had just refused to talk to girls and mingle. We hardly see him with any female friends and as the good course mates that we are *adjusts tie and collar*, we decided to help out of concern. hahaha.

Anyways, we kept teasing him and playfully giving him suggestions to his “situation” as we liked to call it until one of us said something:
“There is time for everything”

Whatever is has already been,

and what will be has been before;

and God will call the past to account.

Ecclesiastes 3 vs 15

This and recent happenings in my life have shown me the value of time and how it works. To every second, minute, and hour, a scene has been assigned. The scenes will only play out when they are supposed to and the truth about the matter is that you actually cannot do anything about this particular fact. This is why patience indeed is a virtue.

You and I have a list of things that we want for people and for ourselves that we recite to as often as possible but the truth is that if these things are not written down in the scripts and scrolls of time, they cannot happen except God allows it.
“Fate confirms fate”
If it is written that you are supposed to crawl and you try hard to walk, you’ll get hurt and still end up crawling. It’s difficult not to be hasty about things especially when you already have it all planned out in your head and you have invested alot in these things. I understand. But the truth is that, whatever is has already been and what will be, has been before. Let things play out.

I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.

Ecclesiastes 3 vs 12-14

Whatever you feel you want might not be what you need. Beating the gun will only delay your race. Relax, and take things as they come. It might annoy you at some point. Sometimes you may cry, other times you may frown ans some other times you may be disappointed but these disappointments and tears have already been before they were. Sometimes delays are just recesses to give you time to learn a lesson or to give you time to avoid a mistake or a mishap.

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

Ecclesiastes 3 vs 22

This is all I have for us today. I’m really sorry for the long silence, school work is overwhelming right now and I promise I will get back to the table once things get clearer.

Happy Easter in advance.
Love you all.
Cheers.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO US?

Hello guys, i’m really sorry about the long absence. I had just resumed school and have been working on a lot of things. I didn’t want to put up posts that seemed rushed so I just stayed away until I got a level head.

Today we are going to talk about something. It’s a question actually.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO US (CHRISTIANS)

I was in my room on a Saturday morning trying to do my Yoga workout. I was following instructions from a video I downloaded from youtube and I had a headset on.

“…and now slowly ascend from a lounge into a warrior pose-”

*knock knock*

“…make sure your left knee is bent while you slowly descend into warrior 2 and hold-“

*knock knock*

THE BLOG IS ONE!

Hello guys! It’s true! The Blog is one! 😆😆

I cannot believe it has been a year of constant blogging. I must confess keeping you guys entertained and informed all at the same time has been big wahala! And you know what? I love your wahala ;);).

I started this blog which was formerly known as GirlUp n Walk on the 19th of September, 2015 (two days after my birthday). I formerly owned a blog (cciamaka.wordpress.com) which I had been running for almost a year but I left it to start afresh.

Why did I start afresh?

I started afresh because it was something I had to do. I had been thinking about starting not just a blog but my whole life afresh by August last year when I was done with my final year exams and I thought to myself  “oh you’re starting a new life journey, why not start a blog and base that blog on this journey?” And that’s how my baby was born.

I had spoken to a few people about it including Bamiyo of BAMZIE’S blog about it and the support I received was unexpected actually. This 100 percent support was all I needed to kick start the movement.

With me at the beginning was Ijeoma Unachukwu who is an awesome writer, you should check her posts out, they are still available on the blog. Her write ups brought in traffic that I still don’t understand till date. Lol Yes! She is that good. I also had Mercy who was constantly giving the readers updates on make-up and skin and then Anita who wrote articles that made the readers feel good about themselves.

100th POST! YAY!

Hello everyone! Hope we are good!

Sorry I have not been around for a while, I have been waiting till this special day to put up the 100th post on this blog.

What has made today special? It’s my birthday! woohooo!! *Imaginary balloons and confetti*

To be honest, this happiness and joy I feel today can only be compared to the way I felt when my younger brother was born in 2010. I feel improved sort of like femaleigboarch 2.0 or something. I am happy because I have reviewed my life and I have discovered that I am not the same person I was in 2015. I think that’s why birthdays exist because they serve as milestones to help you measure how far you have gone in your life. It also gives you the opportunity to scan your life for things that you haven’t done or achieved. It gives you the need to devise new means or methods to achieve the said goals or to improve on the already existing means and methods.

It’s not like i’m going to have an awesome party with loud music and cake, but this feeling alone is enough to make my day. I’m so excited and happy with myself!

Today has thought be that God actually crowns people’s efforts. When you set your mind out to do something and you go for it the right way, your effort is recognised and rewarded. Don’t limit yourself with wrong mindsets, stereotypes or negative statements. I must confess there were low times when I would look at myself and ask myself:

“What do you think you are doing? You can’t be better than this can you? Just relax and stop making noise. Nobody will ever read your posts or even understand what you are saying why bother?”

“Look at her/him, he just does it and it works, why bother yourself struggling for something that just won’t work like his/her own?”

Yes, yes, even I fall for the trap the devil sets with comparison and envy. When this happens, I shrug it off and do my own thing anyway! Oh did I tell you, femaleigboarchitect.wordpress.com will be one in three days time! :D. It was actually registered a few days back but I made my first post on the 19th of September, 2015. On that day, I am going to share 24 throw back posts, two from each month so  prepare for your timelines to be raided!

So, this is it, the 100th post!

Thanks a lot to you guys, this blog would have been nothing without your comments, likes and shares. I hope I will live long enough to keep giving you posts to read and enjoy. Thank you and God bless.

KEEP YOUR GIFTS ALIVE

Hello guys, welcome to September! The birth month of the strong, focused and talented people!

Yes, yes, I am a September baby. I was born into this world on the 16th day of this month and I am very sure God doesn’t regret bringing me into this world.

Since this is the season of the gifted people, we are going to talk about gifts today. Do you know that 5 out of 10 successful people wish they had actually done something with their gifts? (Don’t ask me where I got my statistics from 🙂 )

MY WHITE FLAG

When I was in secondary school, you could only describe me in one word

LOST

Yes, I was lost. I was always looking for answers to questions that weren’t there or questions that I created the need for. I had addictions, I had worries, I had a lot of issues that from this distance right now, look very foolish and unnecessary.

However, there is one question I always looked for an answer to everyday.

“I am redeemable?”

THIS THING THAT IS FAITH

A few friends came over on Friday to see me at home and we got talking. I was working on my final project for the semester with my rechargeable lamp and it was already getting dark. Then one of them asked me out of concern:

“Babe, this your light go last you reach night?”

and I replied:

“No worry, them go bring light”

He was taken aback by my response because I sounded so sure that there was going to be light that night. That was when I started explaining to my friend how strong my faith is and how far it has taken me in this life.

Faith according to the bible, is

“The assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen”

Faith to me, is what fuels and drives my life. My faith is so strong, it’s scary even to me. Faith is what has led me on all this while because my life has not been a bed of roses.

There have been low times, even in my academics and in my family but there is this faith that leads me and lets me feel like all is well. This my faith leaves me unshaken even by bad news. My faith makes me look beyond my situation to see that tiny light at the end of every dark tunnel. My faith makes it easy for me to accept situations as a part of a grand plan that this my God has for my life.

In fact, I am nothing without faith.

There is this different kind of optimism that comes with faith. Faith lifts us up from our situations and keeps us on a cushion allowing us to view from a better angle, God’s plan for our lives. Faith leads me, just like Ranchoddas in the movie “3 Idiots”, to place my hand on my chest and say to myself “Aal iz well”.

If you are reading this, and you don’t have faith in your creator, you insult him!

Do you know why? because he can do anything for you, all you need to do, is ask and believe. If it’s good for you and you are ready for it, he will give it to you.

Besides, having faith and being positive, is a healthy way to live because you worry less and smile more.

There is a song in my language:

“Chim n’echerem ooo, O bara uru n’am n’echere onwe m?”

It says:

“My God worries for me, Is there need for me to worry for myself?”

It’s hard but it’s healthy.

Build your faith and be happy.

WORDS ON MARBLE

Goodmorning people, how are we this morning?

This piece was shared to me on whatsapp and I decided to share it here so that it can bless you like it blessed me. I don’t know the author though.

Here goes:

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he  got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983!

He received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: “Why did God have to select you for such a bad disease?”

<!–more–>

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

50 Million children started playing Tennis

5 Million learnt to play Tennis

500 000 learnt Professional Tennis

50 Thousand came to Circuit

5 Thousand reached Grandslam

50 reached Wimbledon

4 reached the Semifinals

2 reached the Finals and when I was holding the cup in my hand

I never asked God “Why Me?”

So now that I’m in pain how can I ask God “Why Me?”

Happiness keeps you Sweet!! Trials keeps you Strong!! Sorrows keeps you Human!! Failure keeps you Humble!! Success keeps you Glowing!! But only, Faith keeps you Going.

Sometimes you are unsatisfied with your life, while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life.

A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of flying. But the pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse and dreams of returning home.

That’s life. Enjoy yours.

If wealth is the secret to happiness, then kids of the rich should be dancing on the streets. But only the kids of the poor do that.

If power ensures security, then VIPs should walk unguarded. But those poor ones who live simply, sleep soundly.

If beauty and fame bring ideal relationships; then celebrities should have the best marriages. But this doesn’t just happen.

Live simply. Walk humbly and love genuinely.
I hope it blessed your life, enjoy the rest of your week.

FORGIVE US OUR SINS

“…give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Do you know that you probably have been saying this prayer wrong?

Let me explain.

A lot of times we sin against God ( knowingly or unknowingly) and because God has infinite mercy on us, he always forgives as long as we are repentant. Often times, humans take this particular fact for granted and fail to make conscious efforts to live holy lives.

Now, if God can forgive, who are you not to forgive?

In fact, if we don’t forgive, how will God forgive us?

Anyways, i have been on this journey ever since and just recently I had an epiphany.
This truth has always been there but I didn’t see it at all. This truth might surprise you because I should already know it.
